Ukraine nuclear plant again disconnected from grid

  • Ukraine’s Zaporizhzia nuclear power plant has been disconnected from the power grid after Russian shelling damaged the remaining high voltage lines, leaving it with just diesel generators, Ukraine nuclear firm Energoatom said.
  • The UN Security Council overwhelmingly rejected Russia’s attempt to establish a commission to investigate its claims that Ukraine and the United States are carrying out “military biological” activities.
  • Foreign ministers from the G7 group of rich countries meet in Germany to discuss how best to coordinate further support for Ukraine.
  • Russian attacks are reported in Kryvyi Rih, in central Ukraine, and in Sumy and Kharkiv, in the northeast. Heavy fighting was ongoing in the eastern regions of Luhansk and Donetsk.
